For the very first time in the equine world, a holiday that provides enthusiasts with an opportunity to visit famous places and talk with renowned professionals. Take a closer look at this new offer from the Normandy Horse Council and its partner Racines Voyages.

The Normandy Horse Council, in partnership with Racines Voyages, is presenting its first holiday aimed at horse enthusiasts and professionals. With the Paris Olympics in full swing, a break in Normandy will be just the ticket in between the team Show Jumping events on 1 and 2 August and the individual ones on 5 and 6 August. On 3 and 4 August 2024, a weekend dedicated to show jumping is being organised in La Manche, with a chance to discover the Normandy Horse Show and the Semilly Stud Farm. Through discussion and a guided visit from a professional, visitors will be able to take a look behind the scenes of the equine sector in Normandy and immerse themselves in the heart of a leading sport horse breeding operation.

The programme in :

Setting out from Versailles, we will head for Normandy in the early hours of the morning, where we will be met at the Pôle Hippique in Saint-Lô.

After lunch, we will meet up with a member of the Pôle Hippique in Saint-Lô for a guided visit of the historic stud farm as well as a look behind the scenes of this not-to-be-missed event in the Manche department.

We will then head for the delightful town of Bayeux, where we will visit the Bayeux Tapestry museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to admire the epic story of William the Conqueror featuring 200 embroidered horses.

The late afternoon will be free, then we will meet up in the early evening to eat at a restaurant in the town centre, before heading home to rest.

After an early breakfast, we will head to one of the most famous stud farms in the world, the Haras de Semilly, home to the world’s number 1 stallion Diamant de Semilly, for a guided visit with the Levallois family.

We will then return to the Pôle Hippique in Saint-Lô to see the end of the foal fair, an exceptional and unique sale in the courtyard of the stud farm.

We will then eat lunch together in the VIP area of the jumping competition, which will also provide a great view of the competition.

The afternoon will be free, allowing you to admire the performances of the horses and their riders during the grand prix. In mid-afternoon, it will be time to set off again for Versailles and Paris.
